Faith is Like Math

“Faith is like math, you just have to accept it’s principals to do it because otherwise, everything is a struggle.”

Today as I was catching up on my Bible reading (I missed yesterday so today I read two days of assigned scripture), I was in the book of 1 Corinthians. There’s one page that is simply a line drawing of gears with a quote from C.S. Lewis that said “A man can accept what Christ has done without knowing how it works; indeed, he certainly won’t know how it works until he’s accepted it”. Also in 1 Corinthians 3:7, “It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow”.

I thought about when my daughter struggled with Math. Oh how she fought the principals because like me, she tried to understand the WHY. In math you just need to accept that it is correct and do it. Once you accept it, it becomes so much easier. The same can be said about faith. If you don’t accept it, life is harder than if you were to accept Christ into your life and share every day, every thought, every trouble with him. Once you surrender to Christ, the way you handle trouble is different. When you accept that He is in your corner and give all your troubles over to Him, your outlook and outcomes change. I have lived my life with Christ and also lived my life without accepting Christ and I will tell you that everything is easier with Him. Every decision is clear, every trouble that you lay down before him and pray for help with gets addressed and resolved. You have to know going into a relationship with Christ that His answer to your problems might not be exactly what you want and when you want but it’s exactly what you need exactly when you need it.

Just accept Him into your life and share your life with him every day and every day becomes bright and wonderful and the way you look at your life and handle your life changes forever through Him.
