“Finding friends is like taking time to see the beauty all around you on a morning walk. If you don’t stop to look for it you’ll miss the opportunity to appreciate it.”
As I walked today I noticed some things like sun through the trees, little flowers in a sea of vines, dew on the grass, dead branches on the ground. What started off as a message about how these things can go unnoticed before you can see them it morphed into how stopping to see them is like finding friends. If you don’t stop to get to know someone because of one reason or other on the surface or because you’re too busy, you could miss out on a very nice person and a very good friendship. I have one friend who up until recently I judged by the way she looked. Didn’t think I wanted to get to know her and basically acted as though I was better than she was. I have since spent time talking to her about one thing or other and it turns out she is a very faithful person and quite nice and giving. Had I not taken a moment to open my heart to her I would have missed out on a friend. If I didn’t stop to look I would have missed that opportunity and that would have been a shame.
Stop and look at the beauty around you and in those around you too. You might just find that there’s beauty hiding among the greenery.
