“BEGIN. If you look behind you, yesterday is gone so we need only to begin to make today better than yesterday. Look in front of you and tomorrow hasn’t happened yet so we begin today to do our best so tomorrow starts off on a good note. Look in the mirror today and just ….begin.”

Today as I walked, thankfully before it started raining, as always I was saying my daily prayers and thanking God for my life. I was thanking Him for always being there for me, especially when I needed it. Without fail He always answers my cries and pleas for assistance in times of need. When I needed an answer recently to a long standing struggle, I was amazed when I got a text that answered the nagging question almost as soon as the request was out of my mouth. He provided my answer so I could begin to get past it. When I struggled with depression and some seriously dark thoughts, God was there for me to help me begin each day moving forward as I dug myself out of what I’ll call hell. Every day as I walk, God helps me to begin a new day fresh from yesterday because if I messed yesterday up, yesterday is gone and today is a new day to start again with his help. In my life I have begun so many times I’ve lost count but I know each time I started again, be it a new day or getting past a hurt or beginning to rebuild my life, God has been there by my side. We don’t have to be perfect, we just have to begin with one foot in front of the other and walk with God the whole way and everything will be ok.
